What are the advantages of renting a safe deposit box at DNK?
By storing your valuable possessions in a heavily guarded vault you will decrease the risk of having your valuables lost due to burglary, robbery or fire.
In addition, the content of your box is insured by default up to € 45.000. You can read more about this in the Rental Agreement Safe Deposit Box.
What are the conditions for renting a safe deposit box at De Nederlandse Kluis?
De Nederlandse Kluis accepts the following documents as a valid ID:
- EU- and EEA country passport
- Valid residence permit for The Netherlands
- Dutch ID card
- Dutch driving licence (after the first appointment)
- You will need a Dutch current account or European IBAN.
- You must be over the age of 18 to rent a safe.
Can I rent a safe deposit box together with somebody else?
Yes, you can appoint your partner or a family member as co–tenant. Your co–tenant will have access to the safe deposit box with the keys, also when you are not there yourself.
The head tenant and co-tenant have the same rights. Adding a person to the contract can be done at the branch. Note that both need to be present at the time with a valid ID.
Are there any additional costs besides the rent?
You pay a one-off deposit of € 85 per safe deposit box, for the keys and the lock. If you return both keys upon termination of the rental agreement and there are no outstanding payments, the deposit will be refunded within one month. You can visit your safe deposit box free of charge and as many times as you want on the regular visiting days.
If you wish to visit your safe deposit box outside the opening hours, please let us know, so we can make an appointment for further arrangements. De Nederlandse Kluis will charge €35.00 per appointment, which includes 21% VAT and administration fee.
If you lose one or both keys, a fee will be charged; €300 excluding VAT for one key and for both keys €600 excluding VAT.
